I just get tired of people who haven't played in a competitive environment dismissing the whole pursuit, because they saw a couple of 12 year-olds play a lame game. The gun community tends to have an arrogant armchair-close-quarterback attitude against paintball, and I guess I am a bit defensive.
A bunch of the military people I played against bought their paintball equipment after active tours in Iraq or Afghanistan. I didn't ask them how many people they killed, but they didn't seem like desk jockeys.
Further, most of them got into paintball, because their base was using tippmanns for close quarter practice. The base commander or whatever promised to let us play against them on their little plywood town a few times, but he always reneged. The adaptive guys got good and all of them were fun to play with.
I know that actual combat and paintball is different. However there are some fundamentals that can be learned from it. I wasn't bragging and saying we are better than real soldiers just we were underestimated. I understand where you guys are coming from but you would be biased and misunderstood if you thought paintball was just a child's game. I never was in the military my brother was Force Recon Marines,he really is a bad ass.
I wont say I'm a bad ass. And no hard feelings Like Risky, I also think the popularity of Nutnfancy, whose videos I also can't stomach, is behind the cropping up of various YouTube "experts". Very few of the big name superfans are worth watching. They're usually easy to identify without looking too closely since TGO's video thumbnails usually consist of a half acre of camo Jersey knit fabric topped with a cowboy hat, Nutnfancy's videos have feature-length runtimes, and a douchebag with a gun features prominently on FPSRussia's video previews.
I can't stand that "sheepdog" shit. You're a civilian, a cop, or in the military.. Not a goddamn vigilante superhero righteously defending those too meek to defend themselves. I bet a lot of sheepdogs are also mall ninjas. Both seem to be prone to fantasy and conceived with weak sperm. Otherwise and I know this is like admitting that you have crush the fat chick everyone always makes fun of I actually appreciate NutnFancy's videos for the information they contain.
Is he kind of a dork? Yeah, but he's still consistently making videos and reviewing guns. That's why so many of his videos pop up on youtube. Are his videos long? Yeah, but only if you watch them. But I do like hickok45 and Sturmgewehre too. So maybe I'm just a whore. Nutnfancy is a moron. The rest of those guys are just weird. Fps is from GA, his real name is Kyle. About 10 years ago when I was a bit less ancient I played paintball at a nice range which we had rented for my son's birthday party.
Being older and wiser, I let the young guns race to their demise while I defended the homeland. Next to last game I found myself alone facing 3 BGs. Discretion being the better part of valor, I realized my situation was untenable so I dropped my gun, raised my hands and yelled "I surrender!
This ain't the real Army! Last game amazingly turned into the exact same scenario with 3 BGs converging on lonesome me while I valiantly defended the flag. Not good.
